I am wondering if you or anyone here know of someone healed from Aphantasia? My husband is self diagnosed and has tried may other things, with no significant or lasting improvement. I would appreciate any recommendations you may have.

I forgot to tag@Del in my question, but it is really for anyone on this board or in your sphere of influence. Thanks.

Sure, he cannot see with his minds eye. He does not have dreams or visions of any kind. If you say picture an apple, well... he can't.
He went to an ayahuasca and peyote retreat in Ecuador, because others had been cured by those experiences. He can see when under those but barely and it doesn't open his minds eye permanently. He has tried new age and secular methods with no good results. He was an atheist up until just over a year ago. A progress that is a result of me praying for him again. God has told me that my husband will find him when he is ready. He has unbelief because he is completely in the physical, here and now. He has memories, but they are just data. I believe if he could begin to see with his minds eye, and visualize, my husband would be able to open up to belief.

Mary, when someone has been closed off for so long, it takes time. Even a little bit is progress. It has to be something he desires so much (and not what someone else wants for him) that he will practice until he can do it. In some situations, there are blockages that can be dealt with through inner healing, DNA cleansing, and a variety of other things that involve people dealing with stuff in their lives that have "held them hostage." As we begin to take care of the junk in our lives, our "seeing" opens up. If I were in your shoes, I'd start releasing the Love of God over your husband. Ask God what else He may want you to release over him, too. This is a starting point.

Would he be willing to try art therapy? It seems he is having trouble accessing his intuitive/artistic brain (which is also the side we access our spirit with) due to the logic thinking brain getting in the way. See if he is willing to paint or draw from memory. Something as simple as trying to remember a color of an object like an apple or the color of a tree as it changes in the seasons and to paint or color object that are that color and then progress from there to recall the shape of things and the texture of things then the smell etc. He clearly has some memory capability because he can remember other things right? He isn't showing any other signs of memory loss? He may also beneficial from a functional brain scan to see if parts of his brain are lighting up when they are supposed to be. Just to make sure there isn't anything mechanical disfunctional in his brain. But to me, it otherwise seems spiritual I would agree. And likely due to a trauma in very early life. I think of my 2(newly 3) year old and how his brain is now developing to recall and classify things and understand his senses. We "sense" a lot with our spirit. Perhaps ask the Holy Spirit to check his for early life trauma as well. Also, God is love so an atheism immediately makes me think of a parental wound. Pushing away any hint of love beyond what he can physically sense. When we are given actionable love through actions of protection, provision and/or play(joy) then love and thus God appears to not exist and rightfully so! My husband has some similarities to yours. Music also helps. See if your husband can recall and memorize a line from his favorite song.. see if he can seek the Lord of a new song every month that he feels resonates with him. He can grow in this to where God begins to speak to him through this. For me God speaks to me many ways to include names. I'll hear a name and an entire story unfolds or unlocks. You can help your husband find his personal keys to unlocking his spiritual senses. Start with art and whatever he enjoys! See if he can seek these things for deeper meanings and patterns. PS. If anyone else has tried art therapy before I'd love to hear your thoughts!
